Application Details

The E-Up Games Build Canada Scholarships recognize Canadian high school students who have signficantly improved their community.

These activities recognized by these scholarships can be of any form, including volunteering, leadership, advocacy, or anything else that has contributed to your school, community, city, or the country as a whole.

One application is accepted per school. Once you have written your 1-page application, send it to your school principal. Your school principal can select one student and email that application to us.

The email address for submissions will be posted here in early November 2026. Applications are accepted until January 1, 2027 at 11:59 PM.

Applications will be reviewed in February and 20 finalists will be asked in March 2027 to submit a 1-minute video describing their contributions. The videos and initial written submissions will be reviewed by our judging committee to select the ten winners.

Please read these directions carefully:

  • Applications must include your full name, date of birth, year of study,  school, word count of your submission, and a contact method at the top of the page. The contact information can be yours, or that of a parent/guardian.
  • The word count limit is 500 words, not including the items in the previous bullet.
  • ONE application is allowed per school and must be submitted by your school principal directly to the email above. Please send your application to your principal who will choose one application to submit.

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply?

Teenagers in Grades 9-12 (or equivalent) in any Canadian High School. This corresponds to 3e secondaire, 4e secondaire, 5e secondaire, and CEGEP in Quebec.

Why only one application per school?

If the application was open to all students, we could potentially receive hundreds of thousands of applications. By asking your principal to do the initial selection, it allows us to have an applicant pool size where we can review each one in detail.

What counts as an activity that "builds Canada"?

Anything that improves the lives of fellow Canadians.

What happens if I go over the word limit?

To keep things fair for everyone, any submissions that don't follow the guidelines above are disqualified.

What happens in the final round?

The twenty finalists will be notified of their selection about one month after the application deadline. These students will be asked to submit a 1-minute video that describes their contributions to building their community. They will also be asked to submit an attestation signed by a parent/guardian and their principal the the content of the video and application are accurate. A scholarship jury will evaluate each candidate based on the 1-page submission and the video, and 10 winners will be chosen.
